Dr. Omran joined our Gastroenterology and Hepatology division as a faculty member in 2006. Before training in gastroenterology, he was a faculty member in the nationally renowned Division of Geriatric Medicine at Saint Louis University. Being double certified as a Geriatrician and a Gastroenterologist, Dr. Omran brings interest and experience in gastrointestinal diseases of the elderly particularly constipation and colon cancer.
Along with Dr. Glen Gordon, Dr. Omran is involved in the establishment of a multidisciplinary center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at Saint Louis University. They both staff the IBD clinic at Saint Louis University. Dr. Omran is also board certified as a physician nutritionist, and is interested in clinical research in the area of IBD and nutrition.
Dr. Omran is an outstanding educator and is currently the Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Saint Louis University. He was recently elected to become a Fellow of the American College of Physician.
