Dr. Befeler joined the faculty of Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center in July 1998 following his training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Chicago. His research interests are in liver cancer, primary sclerosing cholangitis, management of complications of chronic liver disease, and in transplant hepatology. He is actively involved in the very busy liver transplant program.
