Dr. Ulmasov joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2000 and joined the Division of Gastroenterology in 2005. Dr. Ulmasov has broad expertise in the areas of molecular biology, including gene targeting in mice, which is important technique for understanding human diseases.

Her current research focuses on the mechanism of pancreatic fibrogenesis. She uses genetically modified mice and pancreatic stellate cells to better understand the mechanism of chronic pancreatitis and to develop drugs for the treatment and prevention of chronic pancreatitis.
