Dr. Hachem joined the faculty in 2008 following her training in gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine and Saint Louis University. Her internal medicine training was completed at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Hachem graduated from Baylor College of Medicine with honors. She graduated from Rice University summa cum laude.
Dr. Christine Hachem specializes in treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation/diarrhea, swallowing disorders and Barrett’s esophagus. She performs motility studies and conducts procedures that include double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr. Hachem provides a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and carries that interest through to the classroom. She has served as a mentor to numerous students and residents both locally and nationally.
She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Hachem is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Hachem is also a member of the Physician Leadership Council of the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition. She has been active on a number of GI committees at both local and national levels, ranging from training issues to setting practice parameters to education. She has been recognized with awards for both leadership and teaching.
