Dr. Omran joined SLUCare Gastroenterology in 2006. Before training in gastroenterology, he was a faculty member in the nationally renowned Division of Geriatric Medicine at Saint Louis University. Being certified as a geriatrician, a gastroenterologist, and an advanced endoscopist, Dr. Omran brings interest and expertise in gastrointestinal diseases of the elderly, cancer staging by endoscopic ultrasound, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures for pancreatic, biliary and luminal diseases. Dr. Omran is also a board-certified physician nutritionist, experienced in treating inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Omran is an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, and is an elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). He is the Medical Director of Endoscopy at Saint Louis University Hospital. Dr. Omran is the former director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Saint Louis University. He is a highly regarded educator and has won numerous teaching awards.
