Combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Residency Training Program
Welcome to the Saint Louis University Med-Peds Residency Program which was established in 1981. The primary goal of our program is to prepare residents to become independent practitioners of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine. Our graduates are skilled in providing both inpatient and outpatient care for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and families.
The Med-Peds residency program has 3 positions each year, for a total of 12residents. Half of each class begins their training in medicine and the other half in pediatrics, with each group rotating every three months. Our well established program has graduated physicians who continue to provide excellent care to adults and children throughout the country. Our graduates have chosen a variety of careers ranging from primary care and hospital medicine to myriad of subspecialty careers in pediatrics and internal medicine.
Our Med-Peds Program is more than the sum of its parts. Residents not only benefit from excellent categorical programs in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics, but they are mentored by Med-Peds faculty who work closely with them throughout their training.
Our combined continuity clinic cares for a diverse patient population of all ages. The Med-Peds clinic places significant emphasis on prevention of illness, and fosters the ongoing wellbeing of our patients. Supervision by outstanding Med-Peds faculty will equip you with the knowledge and skills you will need to be a complete independent practitioner.
Experience the joy of caring for patients of all ages in a combined practice setting. Meet us in St. Louis!
