Approximately 70% of our graduates pursue subspecialty training in Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary and Critical Care, Allergy and Immunology, Rheumatology, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, or Geriatric medicine. Of those that pursue fellowships, approximately 50% remain at Saint Louis University.
The Department of Medicine sponsors 84 subspecialty residency positions in the fields of Cardiology (12), Interventional Cardiology (2), Gastrenterology/Hepatology (13), Geriatrics (9), Nephrology (9), Pulmonary (6), Critical Care (9), Hematology/Oncology (6), Endocrinology (3), Rheumatology (4), Allergy and Immunology (3), and Infectious Diseases (6). Moreover, graduates from our program have successfully obtained post-residency positions at the following subspecialty training programs:
